The Yellow Piano

Synopsis

Boris, a newcomer to a traditional "Italian courtyard," is seen by his neighbors as a strange, stubborn, and even ridiculous old man. Against the backdrop of a cold relationship with his son and the weight of daily isolation, he unexpectedly buys a yellow piano and doggedly begins to learn Mozart’s "Turkish March." Boris’s clumsy playing soon unsettles the entire courtyard neighbors grow angry, complain, and mock him. Yet, beneath the noise, the story reveals an old man’s sorrow, pride, and a final, desperate urge to make everyone hear that he is still here.
